Further developments of a multi-phase transport model for relativistic nuclear collisions

Abstract A multi-phase transport (AMPT) model was constructed as a self-contained kinetic theory-based description of relativistic nuclear collisions it contains four main components: the fluctuating initial condition, parton cascade, hadronization, and hadron cascade. Here, we review developments after first public release AMPT source code in 2004 corresponding publication that described physics details at time. We also discuss possible directions for future to better study properties dense matter created small or large systems.
